01How many people does Jackass Manor sleep?
Jackass Manor sleeps up to 11 guests in 4 bedrooms with 8 beds: two king bedrooms, one queen bedroom, and a bunk room with five extra-long twin beds that fit adults. There are 3 full bathrooms.
02Does Jackass Manor have a hot tub?
Yes. A private hot tub that seats up to 8 sits on the back patio, just outside the French doors. Plush robes are provided for the walk out.
03What is the secret room behind the bookcase?
One of the two king bedrooms is on the main floor, tucked behind a hidden bookcase door. Kids (and plenty of adults) love discovering it. It has its own bathroom with a clawfoot soaking tub and a marble rain shower.
04Is Jackass Manor good for kids and families?
Very. The bunk room has five twin XL beds and a Terminator 2 arcade cabinet, and there is a game console, board games, card games, kids’ books and toys, and kids’ dinnerware. The house rule is older kids only on the top bunks.
05What is in the kitchen?
A fully remodeled chef’s kitchen with a gas range, dishwasher, farmhouse sink, island seating, a large refrigerator and freezer, blender, toaster, baking sheets, cookware, spices and oils, wine glasses, and a Keurig stocked with coffee and hot cocoa. The dining table seats 6, with a card table and 4 extra chairs for bigger crews. There is also a gas grill outside.
06Is there wifi, laundry, and parking?
Yes to all three: wifi plus an ethernet connection, an in-unit washer and dryer, and free off-street parking with a covered carport. There is also a storage area for bikes.

01How do I book Jackass Manor?
Book on Airbnb or VRBO. Both show live availability and pricing for the same home. Ski season weekends, holidays and summer event weekends book up first, so reserve early.
02What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is after 4:00 PM and check-out is before 11:00 AM. Check-in is self-service with a keypad.
03Are pets allowed?
Sorry, no pets. Jackass Manor is a pet-free and smoke-free home, and parties and events are not permitted.
04Can I stay a month or longer?
Yes, long-term stays of 28 nights or more are allowed. That makes it a good fit for traveling nurses, work crews and seasonal stays.

About a 3-minute drive to the Silver Mountain gondola base, Morning Star Lodge and the Silver Rapids indoor waterpark in Kellogg, Idaho.
02Where exactly is Jackass Manor?
At 106 S Division St, Kellogg, Idaho 83837, on the edge of uptown Kellogg in the Silver Valley of North Idaho. It is a short walk to restaurants, coffee, a brewery and the city park, and two blocks to the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes bike path.
03How far is Kellogg from Coeur d’Alene and the Spokane airport?
Kellogg is about 45 minutes east of Coeur d’Alene on I-90 and about 1 hour 20 minutes from Spokane International Airport (GEG). Historic Wallace is about 15 minutes east, and Lookout Pass is about 30 minutes.
04Why is it called Jackass Manor?
The name is a throwback to Silver Mountain’s original name. The ski area opened in 1968 as Jackass Ski Bowl, after the legend of prospector Noah Kellogg’s donkey, which is said to have led him to the silver ore that started the Bunker Hill mine in 1885.

01What is there to do in Kellogg, Idaho?
Ski and snowboard Silver Mountain, ride the 3.1-mile gondola, splash in Silver Rapids indoor waterpark, bike the 73-mile Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes or the Route of the Hiawatha, tour the Crystal Gold Mine, explore historic Wallace, fish the Coeur d’Alene River, and hunt elk and deer in the surrounding national forest.
02Is Jackass Manor a good base for hunting and fishing trips?
Yes. It sleeps 11, has free parking with a carport, a full kitchen, a gas grill, laundry and a hot tub, which makes it a far more comfortable elk camp than a wall tent. The North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River and its cutthroat trout are a short drive away.
